She creates a story that pulls you in with Noelle’s voice, and then emotionally grabs at you either from things you’ve personally dealt with as a reader when you were a teen, or it will grab at you because you’re dealing with it now or know someone who is.

Well, when she sees another student being bullied, she does the same thing. Amazon Inspire Digital Educational Resources. I didn’t buy it. Start reading Keep Holding On on your Kindle in under a minute. I think teens struggling with being bullied will connect with the story. Bullying is often about the internal and the external, how those around you can affect what’s inside you, and I think Susane told this brilliantly.
She read this book in about 3 days, which is a very good clip for her. But now this review is turning into a rant and I didn’t mean for that to happen.

Her situation colaeanti, but all I knew was her situation sucked. In a way, that was hypocritical on her part. I am just not sure that things get better while still in high school. Colasantu people make fun of her anyway, for eating things like a lettuce sandwich or a mayo and mustard sandwich that clearly indicate she has nothing else to bring.
But the after-school-special-like feel of the book, pulled me out of the story occasionally.

This book was so real that it plagued me like the bubonic. I wanted to love this book because of it’s great premise,but I felt that it didn’t hold enough promise of hope on the issues and problems that needed much care and attention.
Noelle is made fun of at lunch for eating lettuce sandwiches because her mother doesn’t bring home many groceries once she uses up her allotted food stamps. A digital copy of this book was provided by the publisher and NetGalley for review.
On really bad days, I would try to find that glimmer of hope. The few people who don’t fit into this mold are harassed. Noelle trusts her enough to confide in her about her living situation but not to ask for a tampon?
